In the Spirit of busking

I’m convinced that there’s no place in the world where music, performed with passion and dedication, can have such a direct and immediate impact as it does "on the street"…

Out there, where it can unexpectedly reach and touch people in the midst of their everyday lives.

Out there, where I, as a musician, meet all listeners on equal ground.

Out there, where not only those who already enjoy my kind of music gather to listen, but also people who come from completely different musical backgrounds — and yet, they allow themselves to be spontaneously carried away from their daily routine and the stress of modern life, to enjoy a brief, unexpected moment of calm, relaxation, and emotion — if only for a little while.

Out there, where I have the opportunity to encounter an endless variety of fascinating people. From the homeless to millionaires, from far left to far right — they all cross paths on a city street. And with every conversation, I get to understand a bit more about why people are the way they are, what they believe, and where those beliefs come from. These encounters deeply shape my work as a musician and artist. They challenge me again and again to break out of fixed thinking patterns and help me to stay open-minded — something that, sadly, seems to be getting rarer in today’s world.

That’s why I truly appreciate every voluntary donation made in the spirit of busking. It helps me continue to do what I’ve been doing for more than 15 years now: sharing my music freely, directly, and honestly — with whoever happens to be passing by.
